If you're a fan of Korean pork soup, gamjatang, and happen to be near Incheon Airport,
I've got the perfect place for you.
Gamjatang is named after potatoes (gamja means potato in Korea), but it's not just about potatoes.
(The meaning of "감자탕" in English is "potato stew" or "pork bone stew with potatoes.)
In fact, gamja also refers to a specific part of the pork, so that's how it became gamjatang.
The restaurant is located approximately 5km from Incheon Airport, but trust me, it's worth the trip.

You have a couple of options when it comes to ordering. If you're alone, you can order one by one. However, if you're with a group, you can choose from small, medium, or large sizes. In the latter case, you'll get more pork ribs, and you can even enjoy Korean fried rice with the leftover soup in the same dish. It tastes delicious, so you should definitely give the fried rice (bok-em-bob) a try.
To enhance your dining experience, they also serve kimchi, which pairs well with the dishes. Additionally, they offer kak-ttu-gi, which is also served alongside kimchi.
Oh, and don't forget about the green peppers. They provide two types: the small ones are incredibly spicy, while the bigger ones are milder and even slightly sweet. You can try them with ssamjang, a red bean sauce that also comes with the dishes. It's a great combination!
And here's one more tip for you!
If you're ordering individual dishes, it's not a big deal. However, if you go for a sized dish (small, medium, big), there's something you should keep in mind.
Once the dish starts boiling, resist the temptation to let it boil excessively. If you do, it will lose a lot of water and end up too salty. So, it's better to reduce the heat after it begins boiling and turn off the heat after around 10 minutes or so. This way, you can savor the true taste of the soup without it becoming overly salty.
